There is some confusion about the free software update. The manufacturer offers one-year of free updates and from then, it should automatically update. Poor Customer Service

Another key issue with the Autel brand is their customer service. Clients have complained that they had to wait for long to get a response from the Autel customer support. This shouldn’t be the case as most of the issues were concerning and needed support from the brand. Although, they will solve your issue, but this type delay isn't acceptable.

  1. Is the Autel diy version diaglink unit equally comparable to the md802 elite…explain…ie. i have a 2002 volvo v90xc that needs a diagnostic scan…especially for transmission and airbag problem..?

    • Autel MD802 Maxidiag Elite and Autel MD802 DIY version aren’t same. DIY version has very limited features. Elite scan tool diagnosis both transmission and airbag problem but DIY version only do airbag problem.

  2. It sure did work for me! Kind of tricky, but not impossible. I selected all and let it rip (you need to upgrade to the latest Maxi PC Suite before you can see the car makes available for updating in your SD card). Thanks! And have a Happy fourth, you all!

  3. I have a Maxidiag Elite and just completed it’s first update since 2012. I worked with technical support in China to accomplish the update. Just went to use it today and it fails to boot up. Worked fine before update. I contacted technical support and am awaiting a response but am curious if there have been issues with older units not being compatible with current versions?
